Formation of chiral mesostructured porphyrin–silica hybrids

Abstract

Formation of a chiral mesostructured porphyrinsilica hybrid with cylindrical helical stacking of anionic porphyrins was achieved by the aid of cationic organosilane. The enantiopurity of the hybrid was dramatically enhanced by a small amount of (R)-1,1′-bi-2-naphthol or its enantiomer.
