Abstract

The carbonyl of the ketene ligand in manganese complexes of the type RCp(CO)2Mn[η2-R′(Ph)C[double bond, length as m-dash]C[double bond, length as m-dash]O] exchanges rapidly (NMR time-scale) with the CO ligands though a process that involves scrambling of a carbene moiety over the three carbonyl environments.
