Oligonuclear zinc complexes of 2-pyridylmethanol

Abstract

The title ligand HL leads to the zinc complexes [(HL) 2 Zn(µ-Cl) 2 Zn(HL) 2 ]ZnCl 4 1 and [Zn(ZnL 2 ) 6 ]Cl 2 2; the ligand arrangement and core structure of 2 make the self-assembly of this complex understandable and show its topological relation to the cadmium iodide structure.
