Oxidation with perhalogenated, water-soluble metalloporphyrins: application to oxidation of substituted 2-methylpyrroles

Abstract

Perchlorinated, sulfonated metalloporphyrin 1 cleanly oxidized substituted 2-methylpyrroles 2af in the presence of iodosylbenzene to produce the corresponding allylic alcohols 3af.
