P–H-functionalized ylide–carbene complexes: synthesis of [(CO)5M[double bond, length half m-dash]C(OEt)CH[double bond, length half m-dash]P(NPri2)2H](M = Cr, W) and structure of the chromium derivative

Abstract

[(CO)5M[double bond, length half m-dash]C(OEt)CH2Li]1a,b(M: a, Cr; b, W) react with CIP(NPri2)22 to yield the P–H-functionalized ylide–carbene complexes 4a,bvia transiently formed [α-(phosphino)alkyl]carbene complexes 3a,b; compounds 4a,b are characterized by NMR spectroscopy (13C, 31P) and complex 4a by single crystal X-ray diffraction.
