Polymerisation of phenylacetylene catalysed by a zwitterionic rhodium(I) complex under hydrosilyation conditions

Abstract

Polymerisation of phenylacetylene occurs in the presence of triethylsilane and Rh+(cod)BPh4 to give stereoregular cis-poly(phenylacetylene) with M[> with combining macron]w of up to 35 000 (M[> with combining macron]w/M[> with combining macron]n= 1.7–5.0).
