A new arsenic-rich polyanion. Synthesis and structure of [(CH3C(CH2PPh2)3)NiI]2[As6I8]

Abstract

The reaction of AsI3 with [Ni(H2O)6](ClO4)2 and CH3C(CH2PPh2)3 yields the new arsenic iodide anion [As6I8]2– the structure of which has been determined by X-ray crystallography.
