A new class of low-spin cobalt(II) chelates. Molecular structure and properties of bis(1-ethyl-3-phenyltriazene-1-olato)cobalt(II) and related complexes

Abstract

1-Aryl-1-hydroxy-3-X-phenyltriazenes bind to cobalt(II) to yield the first examples of centrosymmetric bis-bidentate CoIIN2O2 chromophores as shown by magnetic, X-ray crystallographic, and e.s.r. studies; a new type of spin-state isomerism was found.
