Intramolecular condensation of co-ordinated acetonitrile in a binuclear complex of cobalt(III). X-Ray crystallographic analysis of Na[(NH3)3Co{µ-OH, µ-NH2, µ-MeC(NH)2}Co(NH3)3](S2O6)2·H2O

Abstract

The dimer complex [(NH3)4Co(µ-OH, µ-NH2)Co(NH3)4](CF3SO3)4 in acetonitrile generates an acetamidino complex which bridges both Co atoms, presumably as a result of substitution of acetonitrile and intramolecular attack by a co-ordinated amido ion.
