Tetrahedral intermediates formed during acyl transfer. Reactions of acetyl cyanide

Abstract

Acyl transfer from acetyl cyanide to either the oxygen of PhNHOH, the nitrogen of MeNHOMe, or the sulphur of PhCH2SH proceeds via tetrahedral intermediates that are readily detected by 1H and 13C n.m.r. spectroscopy.
