Specific poisoning of Brønsted acid sites on solid isomerization and metathesis catalysts

Abstract

Gaseous hexamethyldisilazane can quantitatively and irreversibly poison Brønsted acid sites on silica gel and on tungsten oxide–silica without affecting the Lewis acid sites.
