Anionic dithiocarbamato-complexes of zinc(II) and a trithiocarbamate ion

Abstract

Reaction of [ZnI2{Me2NC(:S)S2C(:S)NMe2}] with PPh3 afforded, inter alia, [Ph3PC(:S)NMe2][ZnI2(S2CNMe2)], and [Ph3PC(:S)NMe2][ZnI3(PPh3)]; the anions [ZnX2(S2CNR2)](X = halide) and [Zn(S2CNR12)2(S2CNR2)] were obtained by addition of (S2CNR2) to ZnX2 and [Zn(S2CNR12)2] respectively, while addition of (S2CNMe2) to [Ni{S2CNH(p-tolyl)}2] afforded the trithiocarbamate ion, {S3CNH(p-tolyl)}.
