Base catalysed intramolecular cycloadditions of 3-phenylprop-2-ynyl allyl ethers and 4-methylpent-4-en-2-ynyl prop-2-ynyl ethers

Abstract

The base catalysed isomerisations (Ia → IIIa + VI), (Ib → VIII), (Xa → IXa), (Xb → IXb), (Va → XI + XIIa), and (Vb → IXc + XIIb) involve the sequence: acetylene → allene isomerisation, intramolecular (π4+π2) cycloaddition, and sigmatropic or prototropic hydrogen shift.
