Biosynthesis of phytoecdysone: incorporation of 2β,3β,14α-trihydroxy-5β-cholest-7-en-6-one into β-ecdysone and inokosterone in Achyranthes fauriei
Abstract
2β,3β,14α-Trihydroxy-5β-[3α-3H1]cholest-7-en-6-one was incorporated into both β-ecdysone and inokosterone, equally; thus hydroxylation of the side chain of phytoecdysone occurs after formation of the A–B ring system.
