Preparation and nuclear magnetic resonance parameters of perfluoroalkyl-substituted phosphorus(V) hydrides

Abstract

The phosphorus(V) hydrides (CF3)3PH2(1), CF3PF3H (2), and (CF3)2PF2H (3) have been prepared by the vapour phase reaction of the appropriate fluorophosphorane, (CF3)nPF5–n, with Me3SiH; the labile dihydride, CF3PF2H2(4) was detected in the (reversible) liquid phase reaction of CF3PF4 with Me3SiH.
