A highly efficient aggregation-induced emission fluorescent sensor for copper(ii) in aqueous media

Abstract

A fluorescent sensor based on aggregation-induced emission (AIE) for Cu2+ in THF/H2O 1 : 9 has been designed and synthesized. Compound 3 and Cu2+ formed a 2 : 1 complex, the binding constant was calculated to be 4 × 109 M−2 and the detection limit was 1.5 μM.
