Fluorescence sensor arrays for identification of foodborne pathogens

Abstract

A fluorescence sensor array containing polyelectrolyte fluorophores has been developed for foodborne pathogen detection and identification. Fluorophore–cell surface interactions generate fluorescence response patterns that can be differentiated by linear discriminant analysis (LDA) to identify 8 bacteria with a classification accuracy of 100%.
