Polarographic determination of folic acid in tablets containing iron(II) sulphate

Abstract

A polarographic method has been developed for the determination of folic acid in tablets containing a large excess of iron(II) sulphate. A prepared extract of the sample is treated with lactate-phosphate buffer and the precipitate removed by filtration. The pH of the iron-free filtrate is adjusted with ascorbic acid to 6.8–7.5 and the folic acid determined polarographically.
