Pd-catalyzed electrophilic cross-coupling of pyridylphosphonium salts with arylthianthrenium salts to access C4-arylated pyridines

Abstract

We reported a palladium-catalyzed electrophilic cross-coupling between pyridylphosphonium and arylthianthrenium salts that enables site-selective formal C–H/C–H cross-coupling of arenes with pyridines, providing C4-arylated pyridines under mild conditions. This methodology offers excellent functional group tolerance, scalability, and valuable potential for late-stage functionalization of biorelevant molecules.
