Electro-enhanced Mass Transfer Boosting Photocatalysis towards Ionized Organic Pollutants

Abstract

Removing antibiotics from wastewater in an efficient and sustainable way is a great challenge. Herein, we developed an electro-enhanced photocatalysis system. It was found that positively-charged organic molecule (tetracycline) could be attracted by the negatively-polarized electrode, thus leading to enhanced mass transfer and improved removal rate.
