An ultra-high permeability membrane composed of graphene oxide nanosheets supported by a MOF framework utilized for dye separation

Abstract

Congo Red (CR) is widely present in various types of wastewater. A UiO/GO membrane was prepared on an ultrafiltration membrane substrate by the simple vacuum filtration method by adding a MOF, UiO-66-NH2, to GO. It can maintain high permeability (136.4 L m−2 h−1 bar−1) and CR separation efficiency (98.2%) under cross-flow filtration. The membrane has the advantages of a simple preparation method, low raw material consumption and low cost, which can greatly reduce the cost of water treatment.
