Palladium-catalyzed [4 + 4] cycloaddition of 2-pyrones with 2-alkylidenetrimethylene carbonates: access to bridged eight-membered oxygen heterocycles

Abstract

In this work, a wide range of bridged eight-membered oxygen heterocycles have been constructed through a novel palladium-catalyzed [4 + 4] cycloaddition of 2-pyrones with 2-alkylidenetrimethylene carbonates. The reaction demonstrated a broad substrate scope and afforded the products in good yields with excellent stereoselectivities.
