Superamphiphobic concrete with anti-icing properties

Abstract

Inspired by the unique structure of springtails, an economical method is proposed for preparing superamphiphobic concrete with a combination of two simple methods: laser etching and dip coating. Concrete fabricated in this work has marvelous self-cleaning and anti-icing properties, thus repelling water and oil contaminants on the surface which is indispensable for the service life of concrete-based infrastructures.
