Tuning the surface structure of Cu2O@Pt for enhanced ethanol electrooxidation

Abstract

This communication reports a simple approach to synthesize Cu2O@Pt nanocatalysts with different contents of platinum by using the galvanic replacement reaction. And the mass and specific activities of the Cu2O@Pt0.07 nanocatalyst (0.611 mA μgPt−1, 1.68 mA cm−2) are 2.8 and 4.3 times higher than that of the commercial Pt/C catalyst.
