Switchable tuning selectivity of CO2 hydrogenation via anion-modification of the Ru/TiO2 catalyst

Abstract

A series of Ru/TiO2 catalysts modified by various anions (SO42−, NO3, CO32−, OH, Cl) were prepared by a simple impregnation method. The performance evaluation showed that changing the type of anions of the Ru/TiO2 catalysts surface realized the complete conversion from CO to CH4 in CO2 hydrogenation products, which may be due to the surface anions affecting the adsorption of CO intermediates.
