Active-site-enriched Cu-doped Ni–Fe layered double hydroxide nanosheets for boosting the oxygen evolution reaction

Abstract

Cu-doped NiFe-LDH nanosheets are synthesized by the cation exchange reaction between iron and copper ions. By this method, we successfully obtain defect-enriched, ultra-lightweight NiFe-LDH|Cu with a rough surface. To attain 10 mA cm−2, the overpotential of the synthetic catalyst is only 253 mV, exhibiting outstanding OER catalytic activity.
