Vapochromism of indolenine-based heptamethine cyanine dye adsorbed on silica gel

Abstract

Herein, we present for the first time an organic–inorganic hybrid material comprising indolenine-based heptamethine cyanine dye adsorbed on silica gel, which shows vapochromism to amines or chlorinated solvents, leading to a color change.
