Thiamine carbene liganded gold(i) chloride catalyzes an efficient aldehyde–alkyne–amine coupling reaction in water

Abstract

Vitamin B1 is successfully used as an N-heterocyclic carbene ligand for the facile and high-yielding synthesis of a water soluble monodentate NHC–gold(I) complex, which efficiently catalyses an aldehyde–alkyne–amine (A3) coupling reaction in open air under solvent-free conditions or in water.
