CsAB8O12F2·CsI (A = K+, NH4+): design of two fluorooxoborates with benign layered structures via a salt-inclusion strategy

Abstract

CsAB8O12F2·CsI (A = K+, NH4+), with benign layered structures, were designed using the strategy of salt-inclusion based on the typical fluorooxoborate template. CsKB8O12F2·CsI achieves suitable birefringence (0.08 at 1064 nm) and a moderate second harmonic generation (SHG) response (0.6 × KDP at 1064 nm) with a short phase-matching wavelength (270 nm).
