The low-temperature simultaneous detoxification of NO and CO over precious metal-free nanocomposite metal oxides

Abstract

The conversion of NO and CO simultaneously is an essential approach for maintaining air purity. We prepared a cost-efficient catalyst composed of Co–Cu–Mn that showed 100% NO–CO conversion at a low temperature. According to our study, the high performance of the catalyst was attributable to CuO species formed in the composite material that synergistically interacted to produce a dual surface for NO and CO conversion reactions.
