DCID-mediated Heck cross-coupling of phenols via C–O bond activation

Abstract

In this work, a palladium-catalyzed Heck cross-coupling of phenols using dichloroimidazolidinedione (DCID) as a new reagent for the activation of C–O bonds has been developed for the first time. Substituted phenols were well-matched with the optimized reaction conditions. The chemical structures of all synthesized compounds were confirmed by comparison of their melting points with the literature and 1H-NMR analysis.
