Cationic peptides template the assembly of polyoxometalates into ultrathin nanosheets with in-plane ordered arrangements

Abstract

Ultrathin polyoxometalate nanosheets with an in-plane alignment have been constructed in aqueous solution with the assistance of cationic peptides. Different POMs varying in topology, size, and charges could be templated into ordered 2D nanostructures based on this generalized approach, allowing the fabrication of customizable 2D materials.
