Development of an alkaline electro-Fenton process based on the synthesis of H2O2 in bicarbonate electrolytes

Abstract

The traditional electro-Fenton process is unable to treat alkaline organic wastewater effectively. An alkaline electro-Fenton process has been proposed on the basis of H2O2 synthesis in the KHCO3 electrolyte using an In2O3 film anode and H2O2 activation into ˙OH via MnO2 powder, which could overcome the deficiencies of the traditional electro-Fenton process.
