Water adsorption in porous organic crystals of adamantane-bearing macrocycles

Abstract

Three adamantane-bearing macrocycles with pyrazine or tetrazine units afforded porous organic crystals possessing distinct surface properties of 1D pores, which captured multiple water molecules from the air or liquid water in a single-crystal-to-single-crystal fashion. The molecular structures of the macrocycles and water molecules were confirmed by X-ray analysis.
