Quinoxaline-annelated hexadehydro[12]annulene: use of a new building block to construct a hydrogen-bonded hexagonal molecular network

Abstract

A new hexatopic carboxylic acid with a quinoxaline-annelated hexadehydro[12]annulene core (TQ12) was synthesized and subjected to spectroscopy for comparison with a tribenzohexadehydro[12]annulene derivative (T12). Subsequently, TQ12 was utilized for the construction of a hydrogen-bonded hexagonal molecular network, which showed rich HCl responsivity.
