Formation of the silver–flavin coordination polymers and their morphological studies

Abstract

This communication describes the formation of 1D-coordination polymeric motifs involving a modified flavin analog connected together through intervening silver ions. A rare bidentate coordination mode for model flavin was achieved with silver complexation and investigated using a solid-state X-ray diffraction technique. Facile transfer of the polymeric motif onto the surfaces was also achieved using a simple drop cast method. Corroborative results were obtained with optical, AFM and TEM studies, which reveals the deposition of long fibres with tens of micrometres in length onto the surfaces.
