Two-photon fluorescence imaging of the cerebral peroxynitrite stress in Alzheimer's disease

Abstract

We designed and synthesized an oxindole-functionalized two-photon fluorescent probe based on a naphthalimide fluorophore, which enabled in situ visualization of the overwhelming peroxynitrite flux during amyloid-β-induced neuronal ferroptosis and cerebral peroxynitrite stress in live mice with Alzheimer's disease.
