Radiometric measurement techniques for in-depth characterization of photoreactors – part 2: 3 dimensional and integral radiometry

Abstract

To allow for a 3 dimensional analysis of the radiation field, a previously presented radiometric scanning device is extended by an additional scanning axis. With this tool, 3D data of the radiation field can be measured and thoroughly evaluated to understand the interaction of light with reactor components even in complicated setups. This sophisticated tomographic method is complemented by advanced measurements of photoreactor setups with an integrating sphere. While not containing any spatial information, the measuring effort is less compared to the tomography. Results obtained with both techniques for different showcase setups are in good agreement and demonstrate the potential of these tools.
