Visible light-driven fluoroalkylthiocyanation of alkenes via electron donor–acceptor complexes

Abstract

We report a novel strategy for the visible light-induced fluoroalkylthiocyanation of alkenes under photocatalyst-free conditions. Investigation of the primary mechanism indicated that the intriguing photochemical activity of electron donor–acceptor complexes consisting of perfluoroalkyl iodide reagents and K3PO4 might be involved in this reaction.
