ZnMn bimetallic selenide for rechargeable aluminum batteries

Abstract

Rechargeable aluminum batteries (RABs) have been regarded as a choice for large-scale energy storage systems. Zinc-manganese bimetallic selenide (ZnMn–Se), a two-phase compound, is synthesized with larger surface area, more stable structure, and higher electronic conductivity than one-phase ZnSe and MnSe. The RABs with the ZnMn–Se cathode show superior reversible capacity and excellent rate capability.
