Review on magnetic nanoferrites and their composites as alternatives in waste water treatment: synthesis, modifications and applications

Abstract

The present review highlights different types of nanoferrites and their surface-modified composites as alternative adsorbents in waste water treatment. The need for the surface modification of nanoferrites with different surface modification methods is highlighted broadly. The general mechanism of the adsorption of different types of pollutants with surface-modified nanoferrites has been reflected comprehensively. A regeneration study of nanoferrites and their composites using different types of desorbing agents has been reported. The main thrust of the review is to provide recent information about the most important features of different nanoferrites and their composites. The present study highlights the future areas of research for waste water treatment.
