Dry reforming of methane over alumina-supported rhodium catalysts at low temperatures under visible and near-infrared light

Abstract

An alumina-supported metallic Rh catalyst (Rh/Al2O3) was found to be an effective catalyst in photo-assisted dry reforming of methane at around 473 K under visible and near-infrared light. Rh/Al2O3 showed a higher catalytic activity than Ni/Al2O3 previously reported due to the higher turnover frequency and higher dispersion of Rh.
