Manganese(iii)-mediated selective phosphorylation of enamides: direct synthesis of β-phosphoryl enamides

Abstract

A simple and direct method for the preparation of β-phosphoryl enamides has been achieved through Mn(III)-mediated radical oxidative selective phosphorylation of N-styrylamides. The reaction could be efficiently scaled-up and the products could be easily transformed into β-amino phosphonic acid, a bio-isostere of the corresponding amino acid.
