Luminescent and mechanical enhancement of phosphorescent hydrogel through cyclic insulation of platinum-acetylide crosslinker

Abstract

An insulated Pt-acetylide complex was incorporated into a polymer network as a crosslinker to afford a phosphorescent gel. Because of the insulation effect, the formed hydrogel exhibited strong phosphorescence and enhanced mechanical properties compared to those of the uninsulated counterpart due to the inhibition of aggregation among the phosphorescent crosslinkers.
