A facile aqueous synthesis strategy for hexagonal phase NaGdF4 nanorods

Abstract

A facile aqueous synthesis method was developed to prepare upconversion nanocrystals, which exhibit good monodispersity, excellent hydrophilicity and fascinating upconversion luminescence performance under 980 nm laser excitation. This facile technique may provide a promising gateway to obtain upconversion nanocrystals which may favor their applications in a variety of fields.
