Average and local structures of κ-phase CeZrO4 crystals by neutron powder diffraction

Abstract

The average and local structures of κ-phase CeZrO4 (κ-CZ) were evaluated by neutron powder diffraction measurements. Based on Rietveld and pair distribution function analyses, κ-CZ was composed of a double phase with both an oxygen-deficient cubic structure (P213) of CeZrO3.82(2) and a non-deficient trigonal structure (R[3 with combining macron]m) of CeZrO4.
