Synthesis of high melting point TiN mesocrystal powders by a metastable state strategy

Abstract

Synthesis of high melting point non-oxide ceramic powders with mesocrystal structure is an important and challenging task. TiN mesocrystals were fabricated for the first time by using metastable TiCl2. The new synthetic strategy opens up a window for designing reaction systems and fabricating new types of non-oxide mesocrystals with high melting points.
