Stomatocyte-like hollow polydopamine nanoparticles for rapid removal of water-soluble dyes from water

Abstract

Stomatocyte-like hollow polydopamine nanoparticles (SHPNs) are synthesized for rapid removal of water-soluble dyes from water. They demonstrate an exceptionally high adsorption capacity of 2896 mg gāˆ’1 for methylene blue (MB) and can rapidly sequester MB from water within 20 seconds. Moreover, SHPNs can be regenerated easily using a mild washing procedure.
