A NaSO2CF3/NaBrO3-mediated bromotrifluoromethylation of enyne via free-radical cascade processes

Abstract

A NaBrO3-triggered free radical bromotrifluoromethylation of enynes with NaSO2CF3 was developed. It provides a facile access to a wide range of bromotrifluoromethylated five- and six-membered heterocycles. A spin trapping experiment together with electron spin resonance (ESR) studies indicated it should be conducted through a free radical process.
