Radiolysis of alkyl substituted tridentate 2,6-bis(1,2,4-triazine-3-yl)pyridines: an experimental study with DFT validation

Abstract

The radiolysis products of alkyl substituted tridentate 2,6-bis(1,2,4-triazine-3-yl)pyridines (BTPs) were studied by an experimental study with DFT validation. Based on the analysis by various spectroscopic methods (Micro-FTIR, 1H NMR, and high-resolution ESI-MS), the C–C cleavage, oxidation, hydroxylation, and dehydrogenation of the BTPs are confirmed as the main radiation-induced reactions of the BTPs. The possible radiation-induced reaction positions in the BTPs were proposed.
